Hi! Just managed to download your new alpha app! Took a bit of guesswork to get it on, it did not work by the link while using my phone, so i had to download it onto my computer then transfer it to phone before installing. Maybe putting these directions down for other users may be helpful? This is assuming there will be enthusiastic testers that may fall over this first hurdle. As anactual app it seems functional, though obviously sparse compared to the main site, as what i have installed only has access to messages. If this is the main theme for the app you are setting, may i suggest you propose it as say a "meetfighters messenger"? While writing this feedback post, i find that making a mistake is a pain, as when i try to tap a section i want to rectify the cyrsor does not go back to the desired spot, resulting in deleting, rectifying then remembering what i just said. Overall i am impressed by your handywork, and as a "meetfighters messenger" app it is functional bar that tweek so far. I have yet to send and recieve messages yet, so i will get on that and let you know how that goes! Many thanks and great work so far! Kes
So far so good! Messaging with the app is great, the way you have mafe it so that it is made into conversations works great! Responses work very good, i compared th response time on her to the main site off my computer, as a message on the computer shows up, an icon usually appears on my phone to alert me of the message usually within 30 seconds, which i'd guess is good going! Gonna try see what it is like uploading a photo in a message next, expect a new feedback later! Cheers Kes
Wrong counting on messages . cannot see anything else except inbox outbox etc
(In reply to this)
I'll check up on this.
The app does not seem to like uploading photos, not sure whethe it is because of my phone make and model though a it i not a typical brand..... I have tried to attach a photo from my gallery, and a photo fresh from the camera, and after minutes of allowing it to think, the photo's do not seem to upload, so i abandoned sending any messages from these failed attempts.
Thanks for your feedbacks, they were really useful.
I'll check up on these photo upload problems.
And you're right, in this stage it is more just like a 'messenger' app, but it's going to be much more (hopefully). :)
Thanks again, and if you have any feature request or found a bug, please don't hesitate to write. :)
App is fast and responsive (great!) Am also, apparently successfully, running it on Android 5.1 on a Nexus 5. The splash screen currently is badly aligned. It looks like you have set it to ensure it is at least as wide and at least as high as the viewport. This means that the left and right sides are chopped off, so it looks like it says "etfighters.c" I see this text entry box I am writing this message in is set to allow me to enlarge it by dragging the bottom right corner. However the view/iframe it is sitting within does not get larger so it ends up being partially hidden behind the send button. Hope this is useful feedback!
Thanks for the feedback!
I know about the splash screen problems, I'm going to change it anyway. :)
Please keep up with the testing and if you have any idea about features, or you found bugs, please report it! Thanks! :)
When I sent a message in reply to one from another user, the app appeared to generate a "newessage" notification for me.
If you are viewing a conversation then switch away to another app; then receive a message in that conversation; then switch back to to MF app; the conversation view does not update with the new message until you exit back to the list of conversations then open the conversation again. Same also happens if the app is active, the phone unlocked and a new message arrives in the conversation you are viewing. Again it does not update until you go out and in again.
Only limited conversation history available to scroll through. Would be great if it can autoload more as you scroll, or provide some other navigation
Cannot move cursor in feedback form :-) Also the feedback form remains in the "thank you" state until you use the back key to leave the application and then re-open it. If you just switch away using the "three dashes" menu icon then back to the feedback form, it still says "thank you". Am presuming in that state that it is not possible to "send"
Of I receive a new message notification then read it using the android app and then open a browser onto MF then the web page correctly lists the number of pending unread messages as zero, but it still generates notification popups announcing the messages I just read as new messages.
Hi.. just curious.
This android app not for iphone?
whats the name of the app?
- iphone user here
The app is for android. There is no iphone app planned yet, sorry!
no worries 😁 i was just curious about the app 👍🏼
It keeps stuck on meetfighteR screen
Loaded new version of app. All I am getting when searching is a blank page showing it is trying to load but nothing ever loads
Nice improvement. Looking forward to more features integration with the app. No offence but would it be a bit more good if the background image be more blurred out. Given its an app, wouldnt wanna be too eye catching when using in public. Anything to avoid inviting more wandering eyes to our screen.
Not bad... only 2 suggests 1 - don't like the pics you choice... The boy doesn't look like a wrestler ... a kind of musclebear cold be better 2 - too big the pics in MeetFigtr section Thank you
Brill start to the app. The Meet fighters r thing could be better with it in miles rather than metres. Also any chance of details when people log on like on website and options to search people. Thanks
Didnt receive notifications when new messages came.
Meet fighter function doesn't work
some more feedback on the Android Meetfighters App.
First of all, in general, it works alright, I used it extensivly.
The upgraded Beta with possibility for proximity searches ("Meet Fighters") is great!
I found a few issues:
- When my location is updated (either through Android app or Webpage, not sure which, since I used both ), both my home location and work location changed on my profile page. All wrong since Im out travelling. Had to manually reselect profile locations.
- Distance to opponents location is shown in meters. I guess rounded up to nearest km´s would be a better option (also for privacy, even if current location pinpointing isn´t that exact )
- Opponents profiles are difficult to read on phone. Basic data Items are missing,(possibly depending on screen size?) On my 5,5 inch screen I cannot see weight, its blocked by profile picture.
Perhaps better to make Basic data window fill the screen a bit more, showing more details in a column left of picture...
Finally, I suggest a graphical frontpage when App starts. Nothing wrong with current picture, but the MeetFighters logo would make much more sense...
Keep up the good work :)
The app works great. It would be better if you could see someone's full profile without being redirected to the website. Other than that, maybe a notification when there is a message in the inbox would also be useful.
Like all of it so far very easy to use would be great if you can add more of the main facilities but really handy as it is
So far so good. This was sideloaded to a kindle fire 7 inch tablet. It works just fine.
Search needs refined to show people close, not just in the same state.
Previously reported problem seems to persist, when logging in using the new (beta) Android meetfighters app, it changes my default locations without any user input...
Meetfightr for me has distances in metres... Km would be more appropriate
This is all great so far! Nice and fast with no crashes as of yet. Just a few issues and queries: * When responding with a message, there is no enter key, and replaced with 'Go', almost like entering something in the adress bar. * I logged into this when I was up north and it automatically set my location to there when I'm only here for a short while. I suppose its a good feature to help find local matches but can this location update be optional? * The login photos have a stock image watermark * Just a query here. When looking through the MeetFighteR section, some profiles have a green vignette - what does that mean? Despite the list here, I'm liking this a lot. Thanks for all your work!
hi, it would be good to have access to the full profile, can't currently read location and many other details. Good start though!
Hey, any plans for an iphone version of app?
I don't get notifications for new messages nor do I see any hint on the main screen for the presence of a new msg.
Great start on the app. It's obviously pretty basic compared to the web version but i assume you're adding functionality. The geolocation is great . One killer feature which would really increase its immediate appeal is messge notifications. Great job and keep up the good work.
