Wrestle in london's blog

Brotherhood of the Travelling Speedo

Hi guys (if anyone is reading this). The “ongoing situation” (I’m fed up of both hearing and saying the other c-word) has really got me thinking about where I fit in the whole online/general wrestling community. I’ve really started to open up about my love and attraction to wrestling over the last few years after a long time of self-imposed guilt, embarrassment and isolation over it. I’ve told some of my friends about it, have started to use the chat room on here to try to get to know more of you, and put a face pic in my profile. To others it may seem like not much, but these baby steps have seemed huge to me.
So, now I’ve stepped out of the shadows a bit and am starting to be more honest with myself and others about my wrestling I wondered how would I go about cementing where I stand in the wrestling community? How do I go about making friends, having regular repeat meets with a guy, maybe even forming a tag team? Would anyone even be interested?
Just thinking out loud but would be interested to hear your thoughts.

Well done for opening up about your interest in wrestling. I still feel embarrassed talking about my enjoyment of wrestling outside of this site, and although this feeling of doing something covert and illicit adds to the excitement, it would be nice not to feel I have to be so secretive about it. It is a big and brave step to take, for which many congratulations.

Good for you mate. Great to hear and see! Hope you enjoy your newfound freedom and get stuck in on the mats as soon as thatʼs possible again. Iʼm only sorry that we didnʼt ever quite manage to get a bout in. As you say, we shouldnʼt let opportunities pass us by. Carpe diem and all that. 👍

Making friends and repeat opponents can be as easy or hard as you want it to be.
Chatting to people, both new and guys you’ve met before is a great start!
I’m glad you’ve become so self-aware!
