How to safely perform a DDT like Mickie James DDT?

Can someone explain how to safely do DDTs like the one that Mickie James used to do? (See example videos below) In the 2nd link where its a montage of it, I can see in some its almost more of a sommersault the opponent is doing, however in many matches it really looks like she spikes their head. After looking up a general how to give/receive DDT's video, they were saying that the person receiving the move drives their shoulder into the person giving as the move lands, but none of their examples were like Mickie Jame's DDT where quite often the person receiving is being spiked or being spiked then sommersaulting forward from it.
