Thanks for keeping us safe, leanmachine94. Let's get this worked out so we can take WrestleFest international, guys. Canada has some of the hottest wrestlers, and it always has. Your fest is gonna be AWESOME.

Hey there fellow wrestlers,

First, I'd like to give a big shout-out to everyone who attended NYC Wrestlefest this year and who helped organize the fantastic event. I'm currently working with Scooter to explore the idea of doing a second summer fest in Toronto.

As the fest continues to expand, one question that came up is how we manage liability. While we know you're doing a fantastic job representing the wrestling community, incidents can happen.

As we organize hotels, bar nights, socials, etc, under the Wrestlefest banner, we would like to ask if those with legal experience have advice on minimizing liability for the organizers.

One idea we had was a separate sign-up link with an acknowledgment form recognizing that it's an unofficial social event and that everyone is responsible for their own behaviour.

Thanks again guys and we look forward to seeing you at more events soon!

A standard waiver and acknowledgement would probably suffice. Maybe have people acknowledge a particular code of conduct, but then, the question becomes: who police’s/enforce it amongst people who are adults

You may want to hit up Brawl Mart - the organizer of Wrestlefest NYC - and see if he can offer you some pointers. I would also suggest that you contact local Toronto bars and hotels to see if they can offer you available nights or blocks of rooms at a discount.
