Mats at home

Hi Rower87,

Congrats on moving to a bigger space!

When you buy your mats, here's two hints for storage from someone who has owned tatame mats for a good few years.

- don't store the mats upright when not in use; they bend out of shape. Store them flat.
- don't store them in direct sunlight. They discolour, and worse, there is a coating on them that gets damaged in sunlight which leads to flaking.

Puzzle mats to have the tendency to unlock quite quickly when you have a dynamic fight :-)

Hi all,

I recently moved out to a new appartement with more space and a better floor. Before, there was a poorly insulated floor, it was nice from an aesthetic point of view, but the floor didn't realy held noice and also "moved" a bit up and down when walking on it. so fighting was done on my comfy big matrasses. Now, I'm in a rather spacious appartment, with a good insulated, stable floor, and the Idea is to buy mats so I can have better fights at home. A big matras is comfy and has certain perks but I'm looking now for floormats. Do you guys have any suggestions, things to look out for and stuff? I've been google-ing in the Benelux (I live in Belgium), and found a few sites. Best options in my case are, I think puzzelmats with 4 cm (+/- 1,57 inch, if that would exist) thickness, for more or less 3X3m (or +/- 10X10ft). You guys have any advice, do's, dont's, sites/shops with good and not that good experience? My budget would between 200 and 500 euro, best are puzzelmats since I don't have a permanent matroom possible :).

I have at the moment in mind (all sites here are in Dutch) :
