Le résultat de leur affrontement précédent, celui de 71, est favorable à Leduc mais on peut se demander si MYTCHEL n avait pas déjà dominé le français o plus souvent que l'inverse ?

C'est étonnant que lui et G. Leduc ne se soient jamais rencontré plus tôt.
Possible que s'ils s'était rencontrés plus tôt le Belge aurait barré à Leduc la route de son titre mondial !

J ai vu ce match à la TV en 1973....c'était un samedi soir et j'étais fan de Gilbert . Sa défaite par KO m'a choqué.
Certes le Belge était plus costaud.....mais Gilbert en avait battu des dizaines plus balaises que lui......mais e Belge là était aussi trés bon technicien.
Je dois admettre que sur ce match le belge était meilleur...son final est époustouflant.....il ratatine Gilbert au tapis de façon magistrale !!!

I'm looking for a Belgian or French citizen who remembers a televised capture match around 1974-75 which pitted the French (and Eiuropean) champion Gilbert Leduc against a Belgian wrestler.
The two wrestlers were veterans, at the end of their careers, rather heavyweights. The match took place in Paris and the Frenchman who had a title of European champion was rather favorite.
It was a stronger match (holds and shots) than aerobatics given the age and size of the two protagonists. Gilbert Leduc notably made his opponent suffer quite a bit with a kind of painful "white hand".
It was a fairly long match, slightly dominated by the French. But at one point the Belgian wrestler lifted Gilbert Leduc horizontally in front of him, then dropped backwards throwing him back over his head and his shoulders.
Gilbert Leduc, who was not showing signs of weakness, must have fallen badly and hurt himself with this fall because he is counted 7 by the referee before getting up visibly not well. The Belgian did it again : same price and same screening. This time the referee counted to eight. Same maneuver on the part of the Belgian and Gilbert rose again to 9. The Belgian applied his projection a 4th time and this time the French champion did not rise, beaten by knockout for the first and only time in his career . Luckily for him the fight had the status of a "friendly" match and his European belt was not at stake.
Would you have seen this match at the time and will you remember the name of the Belgian wrestler who KO Gilbert Leduc?

Je cherche un citoyen belge ou français qui se souviendrait d’un match de catch télévisé aux alentours de 1974-75 qui opposait le champion français Gilbert Leduc à un catcheur belge.
Les deux lutteurs étaient des vétérans, en fin de carrière, plutôt des poids lourds. Le match se passait à Paris et le français qui avait un titre de champion d’Europe était plutôt favori.
C’était un match plus en force (prises et coups) qu’en voltige étant donné l’âge et le gabarit des deux protagonistes. Gilbert Leduc avait notamment fait pas mal souffrir son adversaire avec une sorte de « main blanche » assez douloureuse.
Ce fut un match assez long, légèrement dominé par le français. Mais à un moment le catcheur belge a soulevé Gilbert Leduc le tenant à l’horizontale devant lui, puis s’est laissé tomber en arrière en le projetant vers l’arrière par-dessus sa tête et ses épaules.
Gilbert Leduc qui ne donnait pas de signe de faiblesse, a dû probablement mal tomber et s’est blessé sur cette chute car il s’est fait compter 7 par l’arbitre avant de se relever visiblement pas bien. Le Belge a remis ça : même prise et même projection. Cette fois l’arbitre a compté jusqu’à huit. Rebelote de la part du Belge et Gilbert s’est encore relevé à 9. Le belge a appliqué un 4ème fois sa projection et cette fois le champion français ne s’est pas relevé, battu par KO pour la première et unique fois de sa carrière. Par chance pour lui le combat avait un statut de match « amical » et sa ceinture européenne n’était pas en jeu.
Auriez-vous vu ce match à l’époque et vous souviendriez-vous du nom du catcheur belge qui a mis Gilbert Leduc KO ?
