How about helping your opponent strip down and slowly gear up? And having a match in full gear. After each round shed one piece of gear until you are both down to gloves. Losing the mouth gear is about the last thing! I'm sure this has been done. Would love to hear about it!
I agree with Heavyweight, any round shorter than 1 minute does not provide enough time to get any work in. 1 minute rounds in a larger 18 or 20 foot ring much time waste most of the round chasing or closing distance. A 3 meter/10 foot square ring ensures that all of the round is used for fighting, as soon as you leave your corner you are face-to-face and banging your opponent.
I'm definitely digging what Chi and Hvywght are laying down. Fights are the most exciting when work is able to be done and capitalized upon, and that being closer to your opponent is basically a necessity for that style of bout. I could definitely get into that kind of tight set up... 🥊
