I'm a fan of this style as well. It seems to be the type of style bgeast and the other big gay-oriented wrestling companies use

Always wondered what they "rules" were and you and the guy before you made it clear-er. Thanks. BG has some good stuff, especially when they permit the dirty tactics in a match.. ha

Brit pro was normally 2 out of 3 falls (pins and/or subs) or a ko to win. There were timed rounds. Most tv matches were 6 rounds, often 5 minutes but sometimes 3, If a wrestler was thrown (body slam, hip toss, etc) without immediately being followed down to the mat, the thrown wrestler had 10 seconds to get up. The attacker could not continue his attack during this period. If the wrestler couldn't get up in 10 seconds, he lost the match via ko. The wrestling seemed much more "gentlemanly" and legitimate than American pro, even though the winners were decided beforehand. The holds and action seemed much more technical and holds were maintained and usually well worked for a long time. If a wrestler got a pin or sub, the round ended immediately.

Thanks for such a clear clarification. I can understand that. I never see much in the way of the dirty tactics our guys throw in so it was good to understand the differences. Thanks again Stud.

Sums it up nicely. Watching Brit pro was always much more interesting.

A good description Hardmatch One other distinction is that whereas American wrestling often turns a blind eye to punches in Brit pro its often a disqualification for a closed fist. Often a lot of forearm smashes in Brit pro too. And although its not a question of rules a Brit pro 'card' would often have a lot of different weight classes whereas n the US it seems heavyweights predominate

Thanks, I have heard something similar once but didn't know for sure. The Amer pro stuff, I cannot handle much of. I hate story lines... I just want to see wrestling.

American pro is more acrobatic and more obviously fake. Brit pro is slower, more deliberate, holds are kept on for long periods, a body part e.g. arm worked on for most of the match.

I have always wondered what the main differences between the Brit Pro stuff and the American Pro stuff is. Anyone have a good list or ideas?
