Actually.... this is a tactic used in mainstream grappling. Go look at the tournament rules for no-gi at nagafighter.com roughly page 20 . This is one you need be aware of because the easiest setup is probably having someone being in mount on you and sliding up like they are going to neck crank you. Really effective if you misread it and are somewhat winded. I've caught several more experienced people with it but as true with most things, you can't use it too often without other people catching on it is your bag of tricks. The obvious problem is if the person on the receiving end is not wearing a mouthguard and is playing rough, they can take a plug out of the palm of your hand.
Yeah I’ve had this done to me in the past. When my arms are pinned down or locked up, and I’m still being stubborn trying not to submit, they’ve clasped their hand over my mouth and nose to try and force a submission out of me.
