I’ve been to the wrestlefest in PA a few times. Always have a great time overall.
Relaxed and fun. All skill levels for most part.
Just wrestle whoever wants to play on the mats.

I would definitely be up for a wrestle fest to be held here in california, brawl mart always invites me every year to go to the east coast for the fest they do out there, if we could get a team together to organize one out here I think it could go pretty well.

I think space is the main issue. I had decent mats that I gave away a year ago because ai felt like I was never going to have proper space for them.

Our gym is going to start having free open mat sessions weekly in the near future. There are several Facebook groups that post free open mat sessions as they occur as well. The outside open mat here May 22nd was a huige success, all the action at every level that you could want.

Same here Justir!
I bet the guys who own the ring in Santa Ana would let us use it.
There's room there for a mat too, used to be one there. I don't know if it still is but I'm sure we could get one in there.

I'm friends with Rudy and Arron. They're not exactly in favor of it.

There are regular meetups almost every month for guys into pro action/gear which is awesome!

As the saying goes, "If you want it. You must make it."

Now we just need a secretary and a treasurer 🙃

Jimmy, I would love to go to a local SoCal wrestling event.
The Okie, Hillside and others are too far away.
Let's get one going around this area.

There are weekly free open mat sessions in San Diego sponsored by some of the jiujitsu schools. Almost all of them are easy to reach by the excellent transit system in San Diego. In addition In addition there is a wrestling club in San Diego and Los Angeles. Also, some of the jiujitsu schools in the area have classes specifically in wrestling. The universities have wrestling clubs as well often open even to non students. Check with each individual club.

Thanks for the suggestions. Wrestlefest is more focused on private wrestling and matches for guys that mostly aren't into competition.

Other similar meet ups are Hillside, Okie Rumble, and Clash of the Titans.

Open mat sessions are not tournaments..you go there and wrestle with whom you choose. How is wrestling private if a bunch get together at an event and wrestle..that is the same at an open mat..what is being hidden that a "wrestlefest" is ok bus a FREE open mat session is not? Many go to open mat sessions that never enter competitons, just to wrestle, have fun on the pmats, practice techniques, and get exercise. It is usually the safest as well with more room and highest quality mats that are usually well maintained an dcleaned as well.

This is a fetish site. I highly doubt members here found this gem of a site by way of looking for wrestling as exercise.

Hillside, Wrestlefest, and Clash of the Titans, are yearly wrestling meet-ups on the east coast, mid-west and south where guys can wrestle their competitors and see who's best.

Who would be interested in a regular meet-up in LA or Orange County?

I went to a fall WrestleFest a few years ago - great host/organizer and cool guys attended. I'd recommend it to guys that want a laid back, fun scene.
