I agree with you all, as i get older, i find healing takes longer and the soreness and pain from wrestling last longer also. I love the fact that i can wrestle, and get aroused and not want sex, if that makes sense. I am married and my wife and i do not have sex as often as we used too, and i am not interested in men normally, but i love it when i can let myself loose when wrestling and the other guy is ok with it also, and the more struggling there is, the more aroused i can get also, and without having much sex, can really build up the excitement
I've always preferred fun erotic fighting to competitive. I prefer safe and sane wrestling to super competitive with painful holds. I still get aroused thinking about tangling with another guy that feels the same way. Also, it seems it takes longer for my aches and pains to heal now than when I was younger. So, safe and sane fun fighting is the way to go for me.
Well I think there's another appreciation as you mature, its both for me a bit more into the fun and less bothered by intense competition .A good question though.

If a guy really trash talks me during the match I find I want to win more, but even then I’m okay with losing if he’s the superior wrestler and we’ve had a lot of fun. Just getting into the ring or on a mat with a guy and we’re only in our Speedos gets me going. Does everyone else have this more laid back attitude? Do you find it different than maybe 20 years ago? When you match up with a young stud who seems all hell bent on winning does it take some of the fun away for you?

I do not see why we need a clear winner except in a tournament. We roll at bjj class all the time. There are no egos and no one keeps score.
