Privileged to host him when he was in Columbus. Powerhouse of strength, technical skill and mastery of physical pressure points is second to none. Once he has his opponent in a vice, its just a matter of time until you tap. A touch match up is an understatement, your body will get pounded and feel it the next day. Leave your ego at the door and be prepared for an intense workout. Incredibly nice guy. Definitely recommend.

Honor to meet this extremely skilled wrestler; echoing everyone else, he's a beast. I learned a lot just from watching but also from wrestling him some. Very difficult but also fun opponent who knows how to adjust his skill for whoever (per request!) Also really fun guy to be around, it was really great spending time together. Hoping this was the first skirmish of many more to come! 💪

Had a fun time rolling with this guy. He's stronger than he looks and he already looks tough. And from what I've seen he's learning submission pretty fast. Definitely recommend meeting up with him.

This guy is a beast of a man and an incredibly good grappler. He has tons of experience and uses his brute natural strength to calmly put you into different holds and make you tap. Even when he starts in a disadvantaged position he is able to regain control and make you tap out from almost any situation. He’s also an amazing teacher and takes the time to teach you different techniques and holds. At the end of our match we were able to test each others strength as well. Got to say, he is only one of a few guys that are is able to put me in a torture rack with ease. We even did some bearhug squats with each other and some different lifts and over the knee back breakers. He is a must wrestle if you’re visiting the Detroit area. Do not pass up your chance to wrestle this beast.

Can you say SKILLED?? Do not let that sweet handsome face fool you, Youngcub47 knows his game and his profile is very modest. Technical, and precise I never felt that my safety was in jeopardy at any time. He was very kind to work with me on some of my technique and fine tune some thing. I truly am better because of him. Off the mat, gracious host, tons of laughs. kind and one of the warmest hugs you will ever get. I could not reccomend him enough, he is so worth it.

July 2020 Update: I had another chance to wrestle this awesome guy during his visit to Denver. I had forgotten just how good he is, but he very quickly reminded me! I would have to say that he is probably the toughest un-trained submission grappler I have met, and I have now wrestled over 900 guys from this site (some have since left). And even without any formal training, he's in the top 2-3% of all my past opponents. He's still safe, sane, friendly, and maybe even stronger and more skilled than he was in 2016. I'm not even in his league when it comes to submission grappling, so it was generous of him to take me on again. He's one of the best on this site, and anyone who gets the chance should find that out for themselves.
2016 Match: A great guy and an awesome wrestler! He's big, strong, skilled (self-taught!), very fit, and a friendly. I really had no chance against him, but I didn't worry about injury or too much aggression – he's totally safe, sane, and controlled.
It was easy to schedule the match with him, he showed up as planned, and he's a very nice guy and easy to converse with and hang out with. I hope he'll come back to Denver for a rematch soon!

I had been looking forward to wrestling this guy for a long time. Finally got the chance to while visiting for my friends wedding and couldn't be happier I did! Can easily see how he's earned such a great reputation as a wrestler and a friend. Had a nice long and sweaty match in his awesome basement setup which was a blast!

His hospitality definitely did not end after the match was over either. After the wedding I came back over and he took me on a tour of Denver and over to the most beautiful concert hall I've seen to date! An amazing guy all around and can't wait to get back to Denver to see him again!

I knew when I was going to wrestle, I was going to be up for a challenge. But once you actually match up with him, you realize his calm, technical, and strong he really is. I couldn’t get a tap in, but kept going and had a great time wrestling this guy. Be prepared for a tough match up, but you’ll learn a lot and have a great time. Can’t wait to wrestle him again. Santa María i took this stud on again and again and again you know that saying if first you don’t succeed try another hundred times yet it’s inevitable lol this guys is like a wrestling guru with super monk powers lol . Jokes aside the best I’ve ever encountered he was gracious to match my skill level really fun guy off the mats to hang with and after getting a beatdown like that I decided to have cupcakes to sweeten up the bitter loss lol . If you have a chance to wrestle him don’t pass it up I look forward to losing again but I will always come back for more unless you know I break a nail or something lol at any rate has the highest recommendation from me

Even though we only live about 30 minutes from each other, our first encounter wasn't until this past weekend in Chicago. We had a short but fun match. YoungCub is super strong and very very skilled. I'm excited to meet up again soon and gain some knowledge and technique from Sensei YoungCub XD

Youngcub is hands down one of the best wrestlers on this site. Don’t let his monk-like calmness fool you, this one is a beast. We matched up several years ago and reconnected this past weekend where he handled me just as easily as he did last time. Unbelievably strong and unparalleled skill, he’s one of those fighters who is always thinking and if you’re fortunate to slide out of his grip, he’ll simply move on to the next and tap you then. Off the mats he’s a smart, funny, chill dude with a passion for cupcakes and mat training anyone but me. Can’t wait for my next shot where I will surely suffer again.

Youngcub seems to be growing muscle on his body like trees grow leaves in Spring — naturally. His big and solid, not fat, and not a bodybuilder, but probably able to defeat guys outweighing him by 100lbs. His technique is beyond solid, his movements deliberate and unhurried. I did not stand a chance, but I had fun trying to sub him. His logical mind works like a well-oiled machine, his self-confidence is as strong as his bod. It takes a while to make him crack a smile, but it’s still easier than subbing him. Now it’s your turn to try, guys. You may not succeed, but you will have no regrets you tried.

Fun fact: I'm man enough to admit when I get my ass kicked. I got my my ass kicked over a three day wrestling weekend on my latest trip to Chicago by this incredibly strong, handsome, and skilled wrestler. You name the submission hold, he made me submit. Over and over, I would try to find a way to bring him down, and it just wasn't going to happen. Off the mats, down to earth, intelligent, funny, and just a great guy to hang out with over a few brews. Look forward to our next match or should I say my next beatdown from this amazing heel!!

Youngcub is certainly an experienced wrestler with tremendous strength and skill (dangerous combo). His grip strength is out of this world and he is able to counter essentially everything I attempted with ease. Fun, safe guy to wrestler with and his good recommendations to improve my wrestling skill. Awesome guy off the mat. If I'm in Detroit, I'll be sure to message him, and I hope to have a rematch with him if he heads back to Chicago.

With Youngcub I was clearly outskilled but that didn't matter to him (or me, really!). This master of the mats was so much fun to roll with. He was incredibly kind in showing me how to properly apply holds and how to counter. Very grateful for the lesson and maybe one day I'll be able to match him! Did I mention what a handsome guy he is? My good buddy ChicagoPiledriver has an awesome Matt room and will often host wrestling afternoons at his place. Several other Graplers came into town and locals (7-8 of us) for some fun and Young Cub was one of them. I had the honor of being his first victim. I’m still sore while I write this LOL. Matt is Freakishly strong and skilled, and super nice guy. He (safely) controlled and manipulated me into multiple taps and toyed with me. Letting me out giving me the chance to counter and try to attack but to no avail. I later found out he’s the great, great, great grandson of Hercules. (Maybe add 10 more greats) I’m pretty sure not one wesrlter present was able to take him. He’s a Safe Heel to toss Jobbers around and will also happily convert other Heels to Jobber status. I look forward to his next visit to the Windy City. Highly recommended!

Lost a brief match with Youngcub47 at Thunderdome. He is strong and knowledgeable, and is always in control of himself, so I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants to improve their wrestling skills.

I met Youngcub47 at Thunderdome this summer, so not only did a have the opportunity to wrestle him, I got to watch him wrestle a number of other guys. He is incredibly strong and skilled, but also very safe and sane. Were I to give him a wrestling name, I think it would be Atlas, as he has very broad shoulders that could carry the weight of the world, or at least some very large wrestlers.

I got to meet Jim at Thunderdome over the summer. I actually met some of his other friends from Maine before him and they had all good things to say so I had already been looking forward to when he got there. Sure enough once he did all of the things were confirmed! Strong and skilled and plenty of energy to keep going for days. He was one of the first wrestler to start at it each morning and always found energy for more as the day went on. Was a blast watching and wrestling with this guy! Looking forward to matching up with him again!

There are so many things that could be said about this guy that the testimonial could become annoying !...But the truth is this guy is one of the absolute best there are on this or any site . Simply great at every level and technique and incredibly safe and sane . He has an extensive repertoire of holds and can get you from every position . In the process he made me a better wrestler . Can’t thank him enough and despite me being no match I hope I was able to give him some fun!.... highest recommendation possible !....

This guy is very passionate both on and off the mats. Very fun to be around and has a very good sense for positioning in a match. His back defense was one of the hardest to crack and made me come up with some interesting ways to counter it which will be fun to add to my future matches hehe. All in all a great experience and I recommend wrestling him if you ever get the chance!

I thought Youngcub47 was a cyborg or superhero watching him wrestle at Thunderdome, but then the on-mats pause button was hit or we were off the mats and the charming, respectful, jolly, fun-loving personality shone through and I was blown away.

What a man! Young, rock-solid strong, marathon-stamina, skilled at such an advanced level that every roll for him is an opportunity to lovingly teach his opponent something new. He is totally addicted to rolling with anyone period. And consequently one becomes addicted to him.

Met this fine gentleman at Thunderdome and am very glad I did. Had a great time rolling with him and giving him a few pointers on his technique when he asked for them. Also had a great time hanging out and talking with him over the rest of the event. One of the nicest guys I've met and helped to make the entire event much more memorable. And to answer the question you put in your recommendation M you know I'm always ready :)

Sometimes in these recommendations you will see people comment something like: "get this guy now before he becomes a real terror on the mats". I had wrestled YoungCub47 in 2013, I think. He
was very good. I was younger. Now it is 2018 and he is an awesome grappler. I am older now. I couldn't beat him then and I really can't beat him now. He is simply one of the best wrestlers I have wrestled. And I've been wrestling since the late 1990's. If you get a chance for a match absolutely go for it. And he's just as nice and almost as humble as he used to be. WOW !!

I've only been to a couple of group wrestling events yet one of the highlights of both of em was getting to meet this guy. He might have "jobber" in his name but that's definitely a choice on his part for most people. He's a big guy and has strength to match and learns from his mistakes quickly. Add in a great personality and he becomes a great person to hang out and wrestle with at any event. Very happy I could meet him at Wrestlefest and then again at Thunderdome.

This guy is a handful. Thorough Headscissor and Sleeper/Choke punishment doled out continuously......no mercy. Remains cocky and calm throughout the match, just smiling as you come to with strong legs ready to go to work againon your head/neck..Will always make time for a match with this Punk!

This guy is by far one of my favorite people to grapple with on here. He's got a high abuse tolerance and can (almost) dish it out as well as he takes it. For those that love a long, intense and fun match this is definitely the guy to see. Can't wait for whenever we line up the next of many rematches!

One of the strongest guys I've found on here by far. Can easily see how he bulldozes through most people and had a blast figuring out how to stop it. Tough, smart and a nice guy off the mats. Had talked to this guy for forever and finally managed to line up a time that he could come down and wrestle with me! Pound for pound one of the strongest guys I've found on here and has a great personality to match it! Had a blast wrestling with him and trading holds/lifts after the match was over! I had the pleasure of wrestling this man at Thunderdome. He is skilled and kicked my ass. I enjoyed every minute of it and it made me want to wrestle him more. We wrestled 1on1 and had a few tag matches as well. Can't say enough good things about this guy. Good man on and off the mats.

After many years of conversations I finally got a chance to wrestle this tank of a wrestler at thunderdome. Had a blast with both the 1 on 1's and the various tag team matches! He's strong as hell and has quite a working knowledge of sub, couldn't afford to take it easy on this guy at all! Definitely recommended and can't wait to finally go visit him in Chicago when I get a chance!

One of the guys I was lucky enough to meet at my first wrestlefest I was able to attend in PA. A great guy on and off the mats, and quite a lot of strength to back up his pics. Had a fun time hanging out with him throughout the event and was happy to help him find out what it was like being the guy picked up instead of the one still on the ground. Definitely recommended

Be sure to bring your A game when you tangle with this guy. Very skilled and even more intelligent. I like to think that I made him work for his victory, but his Zen-like approach to the sport has me thinking and wondering if and whether. Clearly one of the coolest guys I've ever met, wise beyond his years. Safe travels, sir.

Now, this rule has been true since I was a kid but for whatever reason people that deal with music in a professional sense just seem to be way stronger pound for pound than I would expect. And given that he matches me pound for pound and I was already expecting a tough match it was even more surprising when he still surprised me! Plenty of strength, endurance, and skill all around in this guy and I had a great time rolling with him on several occasions! For those curious he also makes a badass chili if you're ever lucky enough to try it. All around can't recommend this guy enough and I hope you get a chance to take him on!

This young man has no real formal grappling education. Yet he pretty much owned me on the mats. Powerful and well skilled. He memic my style with more power and skills that eventually put an end to my attemps to make him tap. I gave him a good workout but made him work hard for the victory. I respect and hate his wrist attacks. Smal joint manipulation. Very nice guy. I hope to roll with again. What a beast. Again.I hate his wrist bends. I tapped mostly to those.

Took me a while to get around to writing this recommendation but it is definitely well deserved! One of the strongest and hardest to catch guys I've encountered on here! We had very similar styles so it was fun to come up with ways to counter myself. Got the chance to get another match in with this beast at Thunderdome and showed him I can do quite a bit more than just wrist-locks this go around hehe :) Loved hanging out with this guy on and off the mats, always something to add to both experiences! Couple all of the compliments with the mad jealousy I have of his palace-like tent he brought to the event and you can begin to see the respect I have for this guy. Highly recommended to any brave enough to take him on :)

Really fun and strong guy. One of my toughest matches on here. Definitely recommended. Easy to make plans with and reliable. He taught me some moves too.

To be honest I almost made the mistake of underestimating this beast. He's much stronger than I was expecting with quite a bit of experience to back it up. Had to work quite hard to make up for my near mistake but had an amazing time doing it! Love finding guys I can cut loose with a bit and he's definitely one of em! If you want a tough challenge with a strong, tough submission wrestler, Youngcub47 is your man. Definitely took me to my limits. Although he shows no mercy on the mats, he's a hell of a nice guy, respectful of limits and someone I hope to wrestle again and again.

I had been looking forward to wrestling this stud for a while, and during a road trip to the midwest this past summer we managed to find some time for a quick match. He was super accommodating and patient with a relative beginner like myself. He's definitely one of the more skilled wrestlers on the site, and you'll have your hands full trying to get out of his moves. Only regret is not having more time for a rematch.

If you're anywhere near the midwest, youngcub47 is defintely worth the detour.

Holy fuck what an amazing fighter. Youngcub47 is one of the very best natural wrestlers I've ever had the pleasure to meet. He's like a dancer that roles you into holds that you can't escape. Yet he knows how to gage his opponent and is 100 percent in tune with what's going on in the match. It was a great time wrestling him that unfortunately ended to soon. I would jump at the chance of fighting this man again. On a scale of 1 to 10 he's a 12☆ The highest recommendation.

Now this is one amazing guy and I can't recommend him enough. Have never had someone drive several hundred miles just to meet me at Joe's for a few hours of wrestling! This guy is the real deal folks... Talented and strong I never stood a chance... but he was easily able to adapt to my skill set to give me a challenging, fun and most importantly a safe match!

What a man. He may be a "youngcub" but this is one of the strongest guys i have ever wrestled. Add in the fact that he knows how to apply sub holds and you have an awesome combo. He is unassuming and nice off the mats but don't be fooled :) Once he locks his massive arms or legs around you, he is in control.

This guy is so cool and calm that you think you might be able to catch him off guard. But then you quickly realize that he is already 5 steps ahead of you. By that point you have already lost. He’s smart and super strong. I’ll get him next time.

Was pleastantly surprised to get a match with this guy one of my previous trips to Boston. He was introduced to me by a good friend and ended up being a fun time all around. He's one of the few people that figured out how to transfer running endurance over to wrestling endurance. It was fun having a longer match without many breaks and seeing how he adapted to the things I was doing. Will be looking forward to this promised "next time" hehe.

As you can see in my profile I have wrestled all kinds of guys but never had one pick me up and turn me upside down over his head......until NOW! Youngcub47 is big, strong, and knows how to wrestle and will even chuckle while working you over. I tried to get him in a hold but nothing worked.
