Although it worked out in the end, I thought he let the guy stand way too close. I was very concerned when the loudmouth reached behind the fellow's head, and held his hand there. It may have been that his sense was that the guy was all talk, no action, but that can change rather quickly. With the guy that close, reaction time is much reduced, as is the ability to maneuver.
The point here is that the guy in the black shirt clearly has had some training. Had he just started to pummel the boy, he could have been charged with assault, and because of his training, been prosecuted more harshly. He waited until the younger guy laid hands on him, then quickly dispatched him with a well placed punch that took the fight out of him.
