Correction: This video was created before Gymrat uploaded his response and actually beat my 90 reps with 94 of his own. Let's see if I was able to pre-emptively beat that or if I need to make a new vid.

Trying to best my own score of 90 push-ups to widen the gap against my competitors.

Great, a nice fight from repetition 50 to the end; congratulations.
I also have to test the asymmetrical lifting. Maybe this helps me...?

That is not intentional. As the exhaustion starts to hit, I think it's just natural for my dominant side to push through more than my left side. I need to be more cognizant of that so I don't get an uneven frame.

Oh well; I think going up asymmetrically is clean too; or not?!??

its ratcheting.

What is ratchet in this context - I know ratchet tools and backstops via ratchet etc.

that's exactly what it is. You move part of your weight up, lock that side, and complete the other. Think about lifting a large, long rock. You can't. But you can lift one end onto a bench, then the other.

(Sorry I'm an engineer)

But Sol is doing them pretty darned well. I'm jsut saying let's not go down the hole of finding tricks. let's do it fair adn square.

That said it's a very good technique to help you progress. Arnold Swarzenegger encouraged cheating and drop sets to help move to a higher plateau - so go ahead and use it for that.

But i'm keeping my form since i'm diving this as part of my normal strength training regimen - is cheating (in the arnold sense) is not part of my plan.

Thank you for the clarification. Since I agree with you. But a "sorry" is not necessary; I am something similar.

Well done! That was actually painful to watch - but man, you just ground them out pumping through the exhaustion – and maybe pain. You're one tough, persistent stud.

And you beat me, by **one**. Darn, i should have done two more.

back to the gym to show you what I can do. keep pumping - i want to see that chest explode!

Well, at the time, I didn't know you had already done 94, so I was beating my 90 by 5. If I had known you were already at 94 I probably would've tried to push through to 100.
