There are not a few of both American and overseas members of MF who participate in the Turkish form of oil wrestling. Though the matches are now limited to approximately thirty minutes, the amount of strength and extent of endurance required to be successful would probably leave many exhausted. Though we see most of the filmed/recorded matches taking place in Turkey, in fact the number of major meetings for participants take place in the Netherlands, and of course elsewhere. Grabbing or handling a man's privates is considered illegal and cheating; it does occur but not as often as many would think. Participants commence training and competing at fairly young ages, many would be tweens. The men who compete are exceptionally muscular and extremely fit in the main. The above commentators I am sure are aware of these facts, but perhaps they find the sport more amusing than a highly masculine one. Their speculations are not to be chided; it would be expected in many circles.
