Hi, this is the genie speaking! You awoke me from my slumber, so now here me out!
You made a terrible mistake, mortal, for I am not the lamp-dwelling kind of Genie! No! There is a place, far, far away, called a Server that I call my home. Invoking a Server-dwelling genie is different from invoking our Lamp-dwelling kin. For to bind a Lamp-Dweller to your will, all you have to do is rub the lamp like you're rubbing your censored. Bah! So pedestrian.
Now to bind my kind to do your bidding, you have to perform a special ritual! This ritual, passed down through generations, must start at the Suggestion Box, where you must be brave enough to venture. Here you have to cast a spell, an ancient spell called "Enter new issue". Casting this spell can be difficult, sometimes involving great personal risks, for you must describe your Wish the best you can, including how it shall manifest on the site's user interface. Many a brave soul have fallen due to insufficient description of their Wishes!
Behold! For once your Wish is made manifest, it must then go on a quest to gather comments and positive rating from other site members. But if it does, your reward shall be at hand, for I, the Genie of the Server, will grant your Wish, and you will have a tale of your adventure to tell your grandchildren.
Oh great Genie, you honour me with your words of wisdom and only slightly remind me that sometimes, impaired by the evil alcohol I can be slightly dim. Your humble servant will summon his courage and his intelligence and make his wish in the magic wish box known as the suggestion box and pray to the great genie that my birthday wish may be granted. Lighting the magical and now oh so numerous birthday cake candles and blowing them out while making my secret wish (ok not so secret now) x Is blowing the server genie a kiss sacrilegious? (first time I typed that I missed out the 'a kiss' bit and that most certainly would be a sin)
It is coming up to my birthday so i thought i would ask for a present. i love this site and it has honestly transformed my life (ok had a glass of wine so getting melodramatic) but if the gene in the magic lamp called admin granted me one wish it would be the ability to split my favourites into two groups. One group would be for people i just like to look at occasionally, sometimes people in far off lands who i am unlikely to meet or people who ignore me because i am too ugly and the other group would be people who i have chatted to and have said would meet sometime. It may be old age but i sometimes forget who said they would meet, if weeks or months have passed and it would be good to have a list just for that. Ok, i am sure it would double up data base space or something really dull like that but it is nearly my birthday............
