I can only say what looks better, and I think the one with both arms just makes the victim look all that much more helpless. With one arm free, he could still try to pull at those hands on his chin. While when both arms are hooked, there is absolutely nothing he can do.

I'm sure with both arms it's more painful as well, adds loads of torque to the victim's back and neck, I think.

The one arm can be just as painful because you change the twist of the spine. Not only are you pulling back on the spine you are also forcing it to be twisted. If you have the left arm over your knee you are twisting the spine to the right. Now as your pulling back on the chin twist it to the left a little and the pain dynamics of the hold are changed greatly.

Two arms hurts FAR more. As NJ Wodbridge has correctly pointed out, some clutchees don't have the flexibility for this and/or it would just be too painful.

This is personal experience talking. It's also why The Sheik only used 1 arm on his opponents - it would damage them too much to use both arms.

I have always had both my arms helplessly draped over my heels knees. I find it more humiliating as he twist and turns my head, relaxing the hold enough for me to clear my head and catch my breath.

It could also be that the camel clutchee cannot tolerate having both arms over the clutcher's knees because of the lack of flexibility in the cluthee's muscled arms and shoulders.

When you look at videos of the original Sheik using the camel clutch, he only puts one of his opponents arms over one of his knees. Is that more painful then using both arms to camel? Anyone know from experience? It seems using just one arm would wrench the back more. Anyone want to experiment with me to find out? I can give or receive.

So far the guys I've talked to and worked on say the two arm clutch is more painful.

Looking for more comments as well as personal experience.

Let's find out :)

I'm assuming you get a different type of torque
