My favorite is a combination of pro and submission and who needs rules.

Since it looks like not many recent posts and activities...

Let me post a question and see what more experienced people can offer:
Do you have a favorite wrestling/boxing style and/or rules you like to throw in?

I don’t have experience with this site but I’ve been Going to BJJ class (gi and no gi) and dabble a little bit in folk style wrestling; and like to do compete in tournaments.

I’ve always been curious doing first to cum and rio and strip style matches but have not had a chance to do it just yet (almost had an opportunity but I’ve either gotten too busy or gotten sick).

Prefer to wrestle sub style - with little or no gear. Rassle nude - man 2 man. Have done "first to cum" matches - work to make the opponent explode first. Always a turn on.

Thanks for posting to breathe some life back into the group. I never had a favorite style, other than doing it best on the mat rather than standing (always had poor balance). I never liked being locked into a single martial art, as each has its merits and its limitations. Kind of anything goes as long as nobody is going to get injured.

Haven't been active the past year fighting cancer; but that should change within a few weeks as things are now looking good on the health front, my strength is about 80% back, and have recovered most of the mat space in the house (yet more space in the back yard). Hoping now that the corona virus thing doesn't unnecessarily scare, or worse yet, actually, necessitate many away from the scene, as some have already expressed 'laying low' until it's passed.

I was first introduced to wrestling (beyond the backyard horseplay typical of early teens) at the request of a close friend of mine in high school. As a 120# senior I was able to fill a weight slot that was missing on the team. It was my first attempt at participating in an organized team sport. I enjoyed it and still have a preference for wrestling in accordance with those rules.

Much more recently one of the locals on this site introduced me to submission style wrestling. It ran counter to my instinct to stay off my back and as a result I am less effective at it. On the other hand can be much more combat like and also more inherently erotic that the more structured collegiate style rules I mentioned previously.

So my answer is both have their appeal, and actually participating is more fun than just talking about it, regardless of the style one chooses. I always try to make it safe and fun for both of us. For me that's the essential element.

So now I was 10 for my 1st match with a neighborhood boy behind the garage. Wanted us to be shirtless and I agreed we were already wearing shorts, it was a fun match. We had many more matches and I had matches with other guys when I found I liked having guys worked me over and win and then brag about it. How is looking for guys one worked me over for hours and then at the and kneel on me in flex and brag about how great they are and what a loser I am. And in my own ring!

Thank you for your insight!
I was introduced to wrestling through club wrestling few years ago and ended up doing more bjj.
I haven’t really rolled with on the site much but hoping soon, that would change since my work schedule now reflects better with everyone else’s schedule.
I do have issues forgetting if I’m doing bjj or folk style wrestling and either leave my back exposed or pull guard.

Firstly, will say that Dan is for real and anyone down where he now lives should give him a try. – Agreed, Dan. Prefer to 'do,' much more than 'talk' about moves. Besides, I like to keep a tight lip about some of my favorite moves/holds, as you probably know. Have always enjoyed your company here on the mats – tangled with you for years and hope to continue if you make it back up to the DC area. I'm just getting active again, following the year's hiatus due to the cancer & its treatments. I fear now that the corona virus will make many guys l'lay low' wrestlingwise for the near future.
