the site recently told me there has been little activity on my profile. fewer venues and suitable opponents would probably account for this. taken together with declining fitness, i sense this may be the end of my wrestling. there are still guys who i want to roll with, but it takes two, so perhaps the end is close.

I hope not, Mike, but you should remain here regardless and inspire the rest of us.

I really hope for you and for us that it’s not the case…👍💪😉

Sorry to hear that Mike. Don’t give up so easily. Just make right decisions.

I hope not mate! Venues closing is certainly a big issue. But maybe just slowly tone it all down rather than stopping completely. You will miss it and we will undoubtedly miss you!

Think we all have these "down" periods.
I think there is still life in your particular old dog 🐕 yet!🫠🥰🤗
Never mind what the site says, what do those whippersnappers know!
Only quit if YOU feel like it!

This happened to me! We may not be as active as we once were but we are all needed here. With years come experience and understanding, we have much still to offer others. I'm staying here and I know, and I speak for many others, that so should you.

Group meets are still taking place in London and Manchester, maybe go to a group event rather than having individual matches. Seems more economical in the days of financial crisis

Mike...
Don't succumb to this thinking.
I am 74, and just went thru 3 years of HELL with my Health.
I am finally getting a handle on it all, and getting stronger again.
All my maladies were caused by my thyroid, and the FDA taking Pig Thymus ARMOR off the market.
We finally got the dosage adjusted with LEVO-T.
Within 2 weeks, everything plaguing me cleared up.
I have to take control of my health because the system is flawed.
I intend to go to Guadelajara.
Don't give up so easily.

It's never the end, Mike. Even if any of us "take a break", we always come back [eventually]. There'll always be wrestlers here to take you on, including myself!

I hope not yet Mike, perhaps just slow down a little. I am in a similar frame of mind too.

Keep doing your Tai Chi and keep your profile active. Do what you can. Arthritis has gotten to my right hip. It has slowed me down but I won't stop yet. You really impressed me at Hillside. You can't stop now. You've got too many of us dumb guys to teach. Hang in there, Sir

Hello,
sometimes I feel analogous to you.... Then I say to myself, wait another year.... Apparently, the number "72" scares too many people.
And... we haven't met yet either! –> so please do not give up!

Hi Mike, As I said, I enjoyed the one time that we had a lovely WoS style submission wrestling session.

Hi
I am 62 and just back into this after 'marriage' break up and seeing your profile [and others in their seventies] still active in the 'sport' is inspiring... I do not think you ever 'rolled over' in a bout, keep the same spirit now....
